Which one suits you?
We post you putty. You press it on, post it back, and we take the shape ourselves.
One page with a paper measuring strip on it.
Cut it out, wrap it round the nail,
read the number.
Sticky tape and a ruler
Tape across the nail, mark both edges, measure the gap. Nothing to print and nothing to buy.

The impression kit
The only method where you do not measure anything. You press putty to each nail and post it back; we read the shape off it at the bench. It captures the curve across the nail and the rise from the cuticle, which no ruler can.
- Add it to your order at checkout — $35 for one to four nails, $75 for five to ten. The cost comes straight back off your order.
- It is posted out as soon as you order. Two-part putty, a numbered tray for each finger, printed instructions and a prepaid envelope.
- Knead, press, wait, lift. Thirty seconds of kneading, two minutes on a clean bare nail. There is enough putty to do it twice if the first looks wrong.
- Drop it in any mailbox. Postage is already paid. We email you the day it lands on the bench.

The nail bed, at its widest
Width is the one number we need from you: sidewall to sidewall, following the curve of the nail. Not the skin beside it, and not the free edge growing past your fingertip.
Ten of them, one per finger. Measure with clean, bare nails — polish and overlays both add width, and half a millimetre matters at this size.
Picked on the product page, not measured. High polish or matte, with an optional surface texture and hand engraving.
How far the nail rises and how hard it curves across. We work these from your width — or read them straight off the putty, if you order a kit.
Before you measure
Do I have to sort my size out before I order?
No. Order whenever you like and we will email you afterwards to sort it out. Nothing is made until your numbers are agreed with you.
Which method should I pick?
The impression kit if you want the closest fit and would rather not measure anything yourself. The printed guide if you have a printer. The tape method if you have neither and just want to get on with it.
Which part am I measuring?
The nail bed — the part attached to your finger — at its widest point, sidewall to sidewall. Ignore any free edge past the fingertip and do not include the skin at the sides.
What if I am between half-millimeters?
Round up. A fraction large sits better than a fraction small.
Do I need to measure both hands?
Only if they differ noticeably. Most people are close enough that we mirror one set — tell us in the order notes if yours are not.
My thumbs are bigger than any chart allows.
That is exactly the problem with a twelve-size chart, and the most common complaint about brands that use one. We make to your number, so there is no ceiling.
Should my nails be long or short?
Short, clean and unpolished. How far they extend past the fingertip does not change the bed width, but polish and overlays do.
What if I get a number wrong?
Tell us and we will put it right. We would rather remake one nail than have you wear a set that does not sit properly.
